Bass Pro Shops Tundra from Gulf States Toyota

Details
By Toyota Trucks Magazine
Toyota Trucks Magazine

If you live in the Gulf States Toyota region (or are willing to travel there), there's a new option for your Toyota Truck needs: the Bass Pro Shops Off-Road Edition.

Toyota Tundra Bass Pro Shops Special Edition

The truck is available in silver, 4x4, CrewMax SR5 configuration only, but includes several interesting upgrades:

  • 20” Milled-Matte Black Wheels and All Terrain Upgrade
  • Custom Bass Pro Shops Carpeted Floor Mats
  • Bass Pro Shops Off-Road Bed Decals
  • 5” Oval Black Step Tubes
  • Spray-On Bedliner
  • Pocketed Fender Flares
  • Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip

Toyota Tundra Bass Pro Edition

While none of these upgrades will provide much extra capability on the dirt, they do create an interesting 'one of a kind' look for the 2015 Tundra. We're also not too sure about carpetd floor mats, since most fisherman we know tend to track a little mud, muck, and water into the truck. Luckily the Bass Pro Shops decals add at least +10BHP, so that's a plus.

2015 Bass Pro Toyota Tundra

Customers purchasing or leasing this truck will also receive a 'lifestyle package' from Bass Pro Shops worth about $1,000. A choice of fishing, hunting, camping, or marine packages will be available at launch.

2015 Bass Pro Off-Road Toyota Tundra

The truck will be available at an MSRP of $43,975 exclusively at delers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas beginning next month (October 2014).

2015 TRD Pro Tundra Pricing

Today Toyota announced pricing for the 2015 TRD Pro Tundra trucks.

The trucks will begin arriving at dealerships late next month, and include several noteworthy upgrades:

  • TRD Bilstein front & rear remote reservoir shocks ($900)
  • TRD-tuned front springs providing 2" of lift ($300)
  • De-tuned rear springs for better ride on rough terrain ($300)
  • “TOYOTA” front grille ($200)
  • TRD badging & special design changes ($800)
  • All-black 18-inch TRD alloy wheels with Michelin Off-Road tires designed exclusively for Tundra ($1500)
  • TRD front skid plate ($180)
  • We estimate a cost of about $4180 to replicate the modifications included on this truck from the factory.

2015 TRD Pro Tundra Truck Prices

Depending on which model you order, the pricing for the TRD Pro version of the 2015 Tundra ranges from $41,285 (Double Cab with a 5.7-liter V8 & 6 speed auto) to $43,900 (CrewMax V8 & 6 speed auto).

On the Double Cab model, this is about $6295 more than a similarly equipped SR5 wth the TRD Off Road Package, and Toyota doesn't specificy which base model the TRD Pro is most similar to. For the DC the TRD Pro option seems a little steep.

For the Crew Max, however, the TRD Pro model comes in about $2975 more than a similar SR5 with the TRD Off Road Package, so it's a much better value.

2015 TRD Pro Tundra Toyota Truck

Like the 4Runner & Tacoma TRD Pro models, the Tundra TRD Pro will fit those looking for a ready-to-go truck with light modifications and a factory warranty. If you're planning to heavily modify your truck, in many cases it's still better to go with a base model and choose individual modifications. Still, at just under $44k for a Crew Max TRD Pro, it may be a great platform for a large exploration rig.
