I had the opportunity to test the Klymit Insulated Double V sleeping pad over this past summer on various camping trips—from a state campground to dispersed camping in Colorado, Utah, Kansas and Wyoming.

As everything gets back to semi-normal after the great pandemic of 2020, most in the overland community are getting back to attending expos and rallies. There are old standbys like Overland Expo West and East, and for the first time Overland Expo Mountain West held in August. A new, smaller expo also premiered in July, The Outside Adventure Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hosted by Lodestone Events, the same organizers behind the Overland Expos.

It was a Thursday night in Texas. We were on the trendy rooftop pool and dining area of the Renaissance Plano Legacy West Hotel where Toyota was holding a private event just a mile from their headquarters. We were elevated enough to have a clear view of the sunset dimmed by the smokey skies.

The first ever Overland Expo Mountain West was held August 27-29 in Loveland Colorado, our home state is of course the perfect host. TCT Magazine started in Colorado, though now we have editors across the US (including our new East coast office).
