200 Series Biodiesel Land Cruiser in 2014 Dakar

Land Cruiser Dakar 2014 Autoblog (and several others) are reporting the the Toyota subsidiary Toyota Auto Body Co. will be entering a biodiesel based 200 series Land Cruiser into the 2014 Dakar rally.

The highly modified race truck will run on used cooking oil according to reports, which should make for a flavorful journey!

2014 Dakar Rally Route Seeing a Toyota Land Cruiser (or Hilux, or 4Runner, or FJ Cruiser) is nothing new in the Dakar Rally, and of course dielsels are always popular among international races. This may be the first time a specially modified 200 Series Land Cruiser has been outfitted to run non petroleum based fuel though.

The 2014 Dakar Rally will be held from January 5th-14 in South America. The route this year will be held in Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. We'll follow along closely to see how the Land Cruiser does!
